8x8 solid rag for blocking light, creating negative fill, and controlling spill on set.
An 8x8 solid is an opaque grip rag used to block light, create negative fill, control spill, and shape contrast on film, commercial, photo, and video sets. It is a useful tool for taking light away from a background, cutting unwanted reflections, or adding shadow and direction to a scene.
Use an 8x8 solid when you need a larger light-control surface for exterior work, interiors, interviews, tabletop setups, or controlled studio lighting. The catalog lists the 8x8 Frame w/Ears and Corners separately for mounting. For diffusion or bounce alternatives, see the 8x8 Silk, 8x8 Single, and 8x8 Double.
An 8x8 solid blocks light. It is commonly used for negative fill, spill control, background control, and creating deeper contrast.
The 8x8 frame is listed separately. Please include the appropriate frame and support in your order, or ask SDFE to help configure the setup.
Choose a solid when you want to remove or block light. Choose a silk or grid when you want to diffuse light passing through the frame.
