Rent the Aputure STORM 400x from San Diego Film Equipment for powerful, color-accurate tunable-white lighting on interviews, commercials, documentaries, television productions, corporate videos, music videos, and studio or location shoots.
The STORM 400x is a professional 400W point-source LED fixture featuring Aputure's BLAIR light engine. Its blue, lime, amber, indigo, and red emitters produce high-quality white light across an adjustable 2500K–10,000K range with green-magenta correction.

Rental pricing, package contents, batteries, modifiers, stands, and availability are subject to confirmation by San Diego Film Equipment.
Batteries, stands, softboxes, Fresnels, projection attachments, diffusion, and additional lighting accessories may be rented separately.
The STORM 400x provides more color control than a fixed-daylight LED fixture. Its 2500K–10,000K range allows crews to match warm practical lamps, tungsten sources, neutral white light, daylight, and cool ambient conditions without changing fixtures or adding color-temperature gels.
Green-magenta adjustment helps match other fixtures and compensate for practical lights or environmental color contamination. The BLAIR light engine also includes indigo emitters designed to improve the appearance of fluorescent materials and provide a more natural spectral response.
The ProLock Bowens Mount provides a more secure connection for reflectors, softboxes, lanterns, and other Bowens-compatible modifiers. It is especially useful when mounting larger accessories that could place additional leverage on a traditional Bowens Mount.
The STORM 400x supports onboard controls, Sidus Link Bluetooth operation, DMX, LumenRadio CRMX, Art-Net, and etherCON connectivity. It can operate independently or integrate into a professionally controlled lighting network.
The STORM 400x provides adjustable color temperature, green-magenta correction, newer BLAIR color science, and a ProLock Bowens Mount. The LS 600d Pro provides greater fixed-daylight output and may be preferable when maximum 5600K intensity is the priority.
The STORM 400x specializes in high-quality tunable-white light and is smaller and more economical to rent. The LS 600c Pro provides greater output and full RGB color control for productions requiring saturated colors and advanced effects.
The STORM 1000c provides significantly more output and full-color capabilities for larger sets. The STORM 400x is lighter, uses less power, and is easier to deploy for interviews, documentaries, and medium-sized productions.
The 300d Mark II is a fixed-daylight fixture. The STORM 400x provides greater color-temperature flexibility, green-magenta adjustment, improved weather resistance, CRMX control, and newer light-engine technology.
The STORM 400x is primarily a high-quality tunable-white fixture. Its BLAIR light engine uses multiple emitter colors to create adjustable white light, but it is not intended to replace a full-color RGB fixture such as the Aputure LS 600c Pro or STORM 1000c.
The STORM 400x adjusts from approximately 2500K to 10,000K and includes green-magenta correction for precise source matching.
Yes. The fixture can operate using compatible high-output batteries. Confirm the battery voltage, required quantity, maximum output, and expected runtime when reserving the light.
Yes. The fixture is IP65 rated for resistance to dust and water. All electrical connections, cables, stands, modifiers, and operating procedures must still be suitable for the weather conditions.
Yes. It supports LumenRadio CRMX wireless DMX along with wired DMX, Art-Net, Bluetooth, Sidus Link, and etherCON connectivity.
The ProLock Bowens Mount supports compatible Bowens reflectors, softboxes, lanterns, and projection accessories. Confirm that the selected modifier is rated for use with the fixture.
Yes. Pairing the STORM 400x with a Light Dome II, diffusion frame, or bounce produces a soft, flattering key light with precise color-temperature control.
A stand is not automatically included unless confirmed as part of the package. Reserve an appropriately rated stand, sandbags, and safety equipment with the fixture.
